New Feature in Google Video : "Start Playing at search Term: 1:18"
SnagIt Capture

I watch a ton of videos on Google Video and they just rolled out a new feature that I find very powerful, "Start playing at search term". What makes this so cool is 1) Google video now searches the Closed Captioning inside of videos 2) Deep linking to particular parts of video to the content you were looking for. (Instead of linking to the whole video from the begging and saying "It's great at 2:24") Now you can search for videos and link directly to the part where they are using the key words you searched for. This will be great when class lectures are recorded and uploaded to Google Video. Imagine being able to review your class lectures by linking directly to the portion where your professor is discussing the topic that you need additional help with! Powerful stuff for global learning.

If anyone is interested in more information about educational resources online in video form just comment and maybe I'll do a whole post about it. It's something I'm very passionate about.

We kicked around this concept for years at TSC and never got our shit together to do something about it. Sure Morae recordings kind of do this, but no one uses Morae for just regular screen recordings. That's what we have CS for...

We miss your passion, T. :P
